New bar and executive lounge at London Southend

London Southend Airport opened a new bar and executive lounge in the passenger terminal.

The executive lounge, branded ‘Stobart First Class Lounge’ offers executive and luxury services to passengers, with complimentary WiFi, iPad stations, daily newspapers and magazines, hot and cold drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks, as well as luxurious seating, massage chairs and 24 hour television news.

Lakers Bar, situated on the upper floor of the departure lounge and named after founding father of accessible air travel Freddy Laker, is open daily for passengers flying from the airport.

The airport’s managing director, Alastair Welch, sais: “We are continually adding to and improving the passenger experience at London Southend Airport, and our new bar and first class lounge in the passenger terminal are the latest examples of this.  We’re very excited to have these facilities open and fully operational in time for the very busy summer of 2012.”
