The Dassault Falcon 2000S and 2000LXS business jets have been approved by EASA. Approval from the US FAA is expected to follow shortly.

Unveiled in May 2011, the Falcon 2000S is the new entry level jet in the Falcon family. Equipped with a full slate of standard features and a brand new passenger cabin designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the Falcon 2000S brings large cabin comfort to the super mid-size segment.

The Falcon 2000S can fly at M0.80 and has a range of 3,350 nautical miles carrying 6 passengers. The aircraft is capable of landing at short runways with challenging approaches.

Dassault should start delivering Falcon 2000S aircraft in the second quarter of 2013.

Announced in October 2012, the 4,000 nautical mile Falcon 2000LXS, combines the short field performance of the 2000S with the longer range capabilities of the 2000LX.

The airplane will come standard with the EASy II avionics suite and FalconCabin HD+ entertainment system and customers can specify the interior of their choice. The Falcon 2000LXS will replace the 2000LX by the end of 2013.

Both of these new Falcon business jets will be certified to land at the London City Airport in the UK.

“The new Falcons display the same outstanding comfort, performance and efficiency that have made the Falcon 2000 one the most successful large cabin twinjet models in the industry,” said John Rosanvallon, president and CEO of Dassault Falcon Jet, noting nearly 500 units have been delivered since the first Falcon 2000 took to the air on March 4, 1993.

EASA simultaneously approved use of Dassault’s EASy II avionics suite on Falcon 2000 EASy series aircraft. All in-service versions of the Falcon 2000 equipped with EASy cockpits (EX, DX and LX) will eventually receive the EASy II upgrade once corresponding service bulletins are approved.
