Milestone finances helicopters worth $140m in first six months

Milestone Aviation says that it has financed 20 new and pre-owned helicopters worth $141 million in its first six months as well as signing Letters of Intent for another $64 million.

“In just six months since we launched Milestone, we have already reached $205 million worth of transactions to provide lease financing to high-quality helicopter and private jet operators,” said Richard Santulli, chairman of Milestone.

It has bought helicopters used to support oil and gas, emergency and government transport.

The company’s first deals have been with Aeroservicios Especializados of Mexico; CareFlite of the US; Global Vectra of India; Helijet International Inc of Canada; Spain’s Inaer; and Omni Taxi Aereo of Brazil.

“We believe a blend of asset ownership and leasing is essential to manage our financial risk, achieve our growth targets and, most importantly, meet the needs of our customers,” said Jorge Diaz-Crespo Cardona, CEO of Inaer, the European EMS operator.
