Michael Amalfitano is managing director and executive head of Banc of America Leasing Global Corporate Aircraft Finance (GCAF), based in Addison, Texas. He is responsible for the general management of all corporate aviation originations, transactions, investments and financing programmes for Bank of America to corporations and high net worth clients throughout the North America and international markets.
Michael Amalfitano is managing director and executive head of Banc of America Leasing (BAL) Global Corporate Aircraft Finance (GCAF) based in Addison, Texas. He is responsible for the general management of all corporate aviation originations, transactions, investments and financing programmes for Bank of America to corporations and high net worth clients throughout the North America and International markets. His $7 billion global line of business services all turbine-powered aircraft manufacturers, vendors, dealers, brokers, management companies, maintenance firms and other aviation-related service providers. As an executive leader, he is also responsible for the management and execution of strategic planning, forecasts, budgeting, market expansion, sales management, new business development, client and revenue growth, as well as asset quality and business profitability for a portfolio of over 800 clients.
Amalfitano, who has over 28 years of experience in the leasing and financial services industry, joined Banc of America Leasing (acquired Fleet Capital Leasing) in 1992, serving as region manager and area sales manager before taking the executive leadership position to build GCAF as a strategic business for the bank. Prior to joining Bank of America, Michael held several sales management positions during his ten-year tenure in the Commercial Equipment Financing Department of GE Capital in CT, NJ, NY and TX.
Amalfitano holds a B.A. in Economics and has completed graduate studies toward a Masters in Financial Management from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conneticut. He is an active member of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA), Helicopter Association International (HAI), European Business Aviation Association (EBAA). He currently serves on the Board of Directors as Vice Chairman of the Associate Members Council for the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA), has served as President on the Board of Directors of the National Aircraft Finance Association (NAFA) for two consecutive years, and remains active as a voting member on the board as ex-officio.
Amalfitano is also involved in several non-profit community organisations, including the Tennyson Legacy and Russell Creek YMCA in Plano, TX. Amalfitano is married and has four children. He is also a 5th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor in the martial arts and actively instructs self-defence at the Black Tiger Karate school of martial arts.
