Eurocopter UK opens new North Sea Service Centre at Aberdeen

EC225 simulatorEurocopter UK has
formerly opened their new North Sea Service Centre at Aberdeen Airport.
The Inauguration ceremony was attended by nearly 100 guests, including local political
dignitaries, Eurocopter UK
customers, suppliers and North Sea oil and gas
companies as well as members of the media.

The ceremony was opened by Markus Steinke, Eurocopter UK’s managing
director. Followed by the Lord Provost of Aberdeen Peter Stephen and finally by
Derek Sharples, executive vice president, support and services at Eurocopter.

During the ceremony a long term agreement was signed between Eurocopter and CHC Helicopter for at least 800 hours of EC225 simulator time per year. CHC Helicopter is one of the world’s largest helicopter operators and Aberdeen will host pilots from CHC’s operations worldwide. There is space at the facility for another simulator, possibility the new EC175 helicopter currently undergoing flight testing and certification.

Over 1,000 hours of simulation time annually has been sold by Eurocopter to customers at Aberdeen.

The new Eurocopter EC225 full flight simulator was
unveiled and an opportunity was given to guests to take a flight on the simulator.
