EagleMed will now manage the assets of Alaska’s regional hospital’s LifeFlight air ambulance program.

This air ambulance program extends the Wichita-based company’s North American reach to its furthest point west.

EagleMed assumed responsibility and began operations on July 15, 2013.

In this integrated business model, clinical care will be managed by Alaska regional hospital. EagleMed will operate the aircraft, a twin-engine King Air B200, and provide the pilots for this specialised service.

EagleMed president Larry Bugg said “EagleMed and Alaska Regional Hospital share the value of safety as the fundamental underpinning for everything we do.”

Bugg added “We are extremely excited to be partnering with the Alaska Regional Hospital to provide critical care fixed-wing transport services to the citizens of Alaska.”

Chief executive officer of Alaska Regional Hospital Annie Holt said, “We are pleased to enter into this partnership with EagleMed, which will greatly enhance our ability to provide safe, high-quality critical care during aeromedical transport.”

EagleMed now operates at 28 locations in 10 states, operating 15 Eurocopter AS350 helicopters and 15 Beechcraft King Air air ambulance aircraft.

LifeFlight provides air medical transport service throughout Alaska and to facilities in the lower 48 states.
