Vertis Aviation, part of independently-owned 28 East Group, and German-based aircraft operator K5 have co-launched an aircraft brokerage named 28 East, which will be based in Zug, Switzerland.

The brokerage will focus on buying and selling new and pre-owned aircraft above $10 million. Vertis Aviation already has offices in Switzerland, London and Dubai, and it is expected that 28 East will seek to explore opportunities in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Russia.

Luca Madone, partner at 28 East, says the Group has already completed aircraft transactions in the past on behalf of its charter customers – which includes royal families and ultra-high-net-worth individuals – but this is the first time that the company has formerly launched a dedicated aircraft brokerage.

“As a Group, we are well versed in aircraft types, have an extensive aviation contact list and a thorough understanding of the sector,” said Madone. “We believe we have an exceptional advantage because we have literally taken aircraft from green sheet specification, to full completion and re-delivery, so we understand every aspect of the aircraft sales process.

28 East is launching with an exclusive mandate for a 2007-build Airbus ACJ319 and a 2000-build Bombardier Global Express registered as OE-IGS. It also expects to add a brand new large cabin business jet in the near future.

Madone added: “Combine this with the operational knowledge held by our partners at K5, and we have a nose-to-tail solution for clients looking to sell or purchase aircraft. It’s a unique skill set that we know the market will welcome.”
