Hawke's Bay Airport is new international arrival airport in New Zealand.

The New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries recent approval of Skyline Aviation as a Fixed Based Operator (FBO) with a facility for International arrivals and departures now allows Hawke’s Bay Airport to handle executive jets up to the size of Gulfstream G550s.

The approval means that international visitors can bypass Auckland or Wellington and fly directly into and out of the Hawke’s Bay Airport using the Skyline Aviation FBO. Skyline Aviation has experience in handling executive jets but to clear customs and immigration the aircraft have had to fly to Auckland or Wellington to continue their international journeys.

Skyline Aviation can offer onward journeys using their fleet of helicopters. Their fleet currently consists of two BK117s, two AS350B helicopters, three fixed wing aircraft including a King Air 200 turboprop.

The new facility at Hawke’s Bay Airport had biosecurity and passenger clearance areas, indoor boarding and guest lounge and an operations room, providing pilots’ weather, assistance with flight planning, refuelling and catering.
