AvBuyer, the aircraft sales magazine and website, has been bought by Flying Media Group.

Flying Media Group (FMG) was formed when Craig Fuller, the founder of FreightWaves a trucking information business, acquired Flying magazine. It recently launched Aircraftforsale a magazine and site targetted at owner pilots.

“We spoke to several people but Flying Media Group was definitely the best fit,” John Brennan, founder and MD of AvBuyer told Corporate Jet Investor. “We are excited about working together as they build an international business.”

Brennan founded World Aircraft Sales magazine in 1996. It was later changed to AvBuyer when it launched online.

“AvBuyer is one of the most respected brands in the aircraft dealer and buyer communities. Now with a significant global presence, the FMG platform has the most expansive reach for prospective buyers of any classified aircraft listing provider in aviation,” said Fuller in a statement.

Flying Media Group consists of: Flying Magazine, Kitplanes, Business Air, Plane & Pilot, Aviation Consumer, Aviation Safety, AvWeb, Airline Geeks, AircraftforSale, IFR and and AvBuyer.
