European traffic increases 5% YoY in April
After a slow March, Europe’s business aviation traffic recorded a return to growth with a 5% YoY advance. That’s according to WingX Advance, which reports that the largest growth, 20%, was in the super-midsize jet sector, primarily coming from AOC holders. That reflected fractional fleet rejuvenation, according to Richard Koe, WingX Advance’s managing director.
The turboprop market also saw strong growth, with a 7% YoY increase in movements.
Germany experienced an 11% increase in activity last month, with France, Switzerland and the UK also seeing growth. However, activity was down in Spain and Italy. The activity drop in Italy is primarily attributed to a 10% YoY decrease in the number of heavy jet flights.
Flights within Germany, between Germany and the UK and between France and Switzerland all showed an increasing trend in activity – with the Paris-Geneva route in particular seeing 40% growth.
