DAHER-SOCATA launched the new TBM 900 single-engined business turboprop at a ceremony held in Tarbes, France.

The new TBM 900 has already been certificated and the first customer deliveries will begin later this month. The new aircraft is designed with winglets for better performance and a new five-blade composite material propeller.

The new TBM 900 retains much commonality with the TBM 850 including the engine, a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D powerplant.

Patrick Daher, chairman and CEO of DAHER, said: “Today, we are introducing a new aircraft to business aviation: the TBM 900, which benefits from the resources of DAHER and some $30 million of investment.”

“DAHER is a true aircraft manufacture with full capabilities to manage complex programmes, from design and development to production, delivery and after-sales support, “ added Daher.

The TBM 900 is capable of taking-off using just under 2,400 ft and landing in just under 2,450 ft. The aircraft’s top cruise speed is 330 knots at 28,000 ft and its maximum range is 1,730 nm with five passengers.

Stéphane Mayer, president and CEO of DAHER-SOCATA, said: “The TBM 900 results from the company’s attention in listening to customers, and builds on the TBM 850’s success. This positions the company for its future in business aviation, as well as underscores the capabilities of the DAHER’s Aerospace and Defense activities.”
