Mente Group CEO Brian Proctor (pictured) is the new chairman of the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA).

The announcement follows the fall membership meeting, which coincided with NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas, where nominations for the 2018 board of directors and Products and Services Member Advisory Council were made.

Proctor’s aim is to create a competitive advantage for members and their customers by leveraging NARA’s collective knowledge and resources, and continuing to ensure that members abide by the association’s 14-point Code of Ethics which provides standards of business conduct regarding business aircraft transactions.

“I am looking forward to working closely with the new board members as we aim to elevate the brokerage profession and better position NARA members as industry leaders for the future.”

He said: “I am looking forward to working closely with the new board members as we aim to elevate the brokerage profession and better position NARA members as industry leaders for the future. The pre-owned business aircraft market is complex and buyers need more access to professionals they can trust to help navigate through the brokerage and acquisition processes.

“Our team of 100 NARA Certified Broker/Dealers and Products and Services Members are the most qualified to provide this valuable service.”

Proctor’s enhanced involvement with NARA is another endorsement of his business aviation expertise. With a BA degree in International Studies in Politics and Diplomacy from the University of Richmond and an MBA from the Southern Methodist University, he has served the industry for more than 15 years and been involved in more than $5 billion in aircraft transactions and more than $6 billion in aviation business planning.

Mente Group enjoyed its strongest NBAA-BACE ever. It showcased three aircraft in the static display – a Pilatus PC-12NG, a Gulfstream G200 and a Bombardier Challenger 300.

“The strengthened presence underlined what has been a strong year for us,” said Proctor.
