AirMed International acquires Air Medical of San Antonio

AirMed International has acquired San Antonio-based Air Medical, the largest fixed wing air medical transport company in Texas.

Air Medical’s fleet of three jets and two King Air turboprops, equipped for critical care transports, is located at San Antonio International Airport. Those aircraft will join AirMed’s fleet, including Beechjet, Cessna Citation, Hawker and Learjet aircraft along with more than 20 King Airs, located at nearly 30 bases.

“Strategically, this acquisition will allow AirMed International to serve growing requirements for critical care transport as we meet the needs of healthcare in the Texas region and enhance support for area military medical transports.”

Air Medical has performed emergency and pre-scheduled medical transports for 15 years. Like AirMed, it also conducts international transports and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).

AirMed International is an air medical transport company, with more than 20,000 missions in all 50 United States and over 150 countries on six continents. AirMed owns and operates all aircraft, as well as employing its own dispatch, fight and medical teams.

AirMed provides worldwide services from multiple bases strategically located across the globe. With accreditation from both CAMTS and EURAMI, AirMed is able to deliver an medical transport to customers regardless of location.
