The brand new Nike G650 is a homage to the Oregon Ducks college football team.

UPDATE: BizJet Blogger has since reported that the Nike G650 business jet is, in fact, privately owned by Nike’s co-owner, Phil Knight, and not the corporation.

The Nike Corporation accepted delivery of a new Gulfstream G650 jet into Hillsboro Airport, Oregon on Friday 28 June, after the aircraft was first photographed leaving a Gulfstream paint shop in Long Beach last week.

The black and white exterior, complete with feathers on the aircraft’s tail, is believed to represent the branding of the Oregon Ducks college football team – who have a long affiliation with Nike – according to Gulfstream blogger, Bob Holland.

Nike has since registered the jet with the FAA under the personalised serial number N1KE, which previously was used to identify the company’s Gulfstream GV business jet.

The Nike G650 is the 24th G650 to be built by Gulfstream.

Gulfstream delivered six G650s in 2012 and Corporate Jet Investor knows of another 12 G650s which have been delivered in the first half of 2013.

The US manufacturer expects to deliver 113 green large-cabin business jets – including the G350, G450, G550 as well as the G650 – throughout 2013.
