AgustaWestland and Sino-US Intercontinental in China open new joint regional business headquarters in Shanghai.

AgustaWestland and Sino-US Intercontinental in China have opened a joint regional business headquarters in Shanghai.

AgustaWestland China’s objective is to further expand the presence of AgustaWestand in China’s civil helicopter market.

This event marks a new stage in the development of our common commitment to offering the Chinese civil helicopter market the best rotorcraft solutions available today. We are confident we’ll be able to meet the evolving requirements of one of the world’s most promising markets, one showing huge potential for exploitation of vertical lift transport. “

Jianming Zou, chairman of Shanghai Zenisun Investment Group (parent company of Sino-US Intercontinental), said: “By cooperating with AgustaWestland, a leading rotorcraft OEM in the world, we are introducing its cutting-edge technology and advanced operational system into China. This brings a new opportunity to the expansion of the Chinese civil helicopter market. We firmly believe we will be able to satisfy the various demands of Chinese commercial customers and promote the development of the entire general aviation industry in China.”

Sino-US Intercontinental was appointed by AgustaWestland as a distributor for AgustaWestland civil helicopters in China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau in September 2013.

Since then Sino-US International has ordered twenty helicopters comprising AW119Ke, GrandNew, AW169, AW139 and AW189 helicopters.

More than 60 AgustaWestland helicopters have been sold to Chinese customers.
