Corporate Jet Investor Asia 2018

Corporate Jet Investor Asia 2018 brought together a cross-section of over 200 leading financiers, lawyers, operators, brokers, insurers, manufacturers, appraisers and many others in the business aviation industry, involved in growing and supporting Asia’s fleet.

Returning in Singapore, the conference provided delegates with a unique opportunity to understand the region and meet like-minded professionals in the sector through a varied mix of keynote presentatons, panel discussions and the much-valued networking opportunties.

Having previously run in Shanghai and Hong Kong with many engaging and entertaining sessions selected to stimulate debate and discussion, delegates left the conference ready to return to their organisations with the latest insights and new ways to develop their businesses. Attracting senior level executives to discuss the opportunities and threats, develop the latest strategies and explore new sources of revenue within the market.

An interactive conference, attendees were encouraged to engage and participate with the conference session with the popular online audience participation app allowing for live comments from the audience and real-time poll voting.

Nathan Andrews

Mr Nathan Andrews is Satcom Direct’s Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region. Nathan started his career with SD in its Technical Support division at its headquarters in Melbourne, Florida; later moving to the UK SD office in Farnborough where he was responsible for managing Southern European customers. Nathan returned to Australia where he established Satcom Direct – Australia Pty. Ltd., the Australasian arm, that now provides sales, activations and technical support capabilities. Nathan currently manages the entire Asia Pacific region spanning India to Japan and China to New Zealand. Nathan is also responsible for overseeing SD International Military and Government business across aeronautical, maritime and land based applications.

Alex Badran
Managing Director, EMEA & APAC, Bank of America Merrill Lynch International


Alex Badran joined Banc of America Leasing as Managing Director and head of sales for international corporate aircraft finance in February 2010. Based at Bank of America’s London headquarters, his responsibilities extend across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions.
Alex has 40 years of experience in asset finance and prior to joining Banc of America Leasing held senior international sales leadership roles in Barclays Bank, GE Capital, where he initiated and established their EMEA corporate aircraft business, Royal Bank of Scotland and Textron Finance Corporation.

Fabian Bello
CEO, Journey Aviation


Fabian Bello was born in Havana, Cuba and migrated to Miami, Florida at the age of three. He was raised in South Florida and attended the University of Miami where he earned a Bachelors in Business Administration in preparation for his management career.

Prior to aviation, Mr. Bello came from the logistics industry; working for a top worldwide logistics company with over $3 billion USD yearly turnover. Throughout his 10 year tenure, he served as Marketing Manager, Project Manager, IT System Implementation Manager, Director of Operations; Business Processes and Quality. His role spanned throughout the Americas Region, making him the youngest Director ever appointed at the time in a company of over 15,000 employees.
Since he joined the aviation industry, Mr. Bello has held various positions such as Executive Vice President, and President/CEO of an international division as well as President/CEO of other related aviation companies. Most notably, Mr. Bello is known for managing the introduction of Deer Jet’s BBJ’s and ACJ fleet into the Middle East, catapulting the company’s penetration into the international markets.

In addition to his extensive business knowledge, Mr. Bello has vast experience working with and uniting a plethora of Worldwide cultures; particularly Hispanic, European, Asian and of Arabic regions. He has an innate ability of bringing and keeping individuals working together in pursuit of a common goal. Getting things done effectively, efficiently and with the buy-in of all related parties is most certainly one of the strongest attributes to his management style.

Today, Mr. Bello serves as the CEO of Journey Aviation, one of the world’s top Gulfstream operators with 10 GIV’s, a G450, a GV and two G550’s. The company has demonstrated notable growth since its inception in January of 2014, exceeding $100 million USD in total revenue, while establishing itself as an industry preferred quality operator. As per their current track record, Journey Aviation shall exceed $200 million in total revenue by the end of its 5th year in operation.

David Best
Head of Global Business Development, Jet Aviation


David Best is the Head of Jet Aviation’s global Business Development function, based out of Orlando, Florida. With over twenty years industry experience he has worked on projects and transactions across the globe with experience in both the Business and Commercial aviation sectors.

In addition to his role at Jet Aviation David serves as Board of Governor of the Asian Business Aviation Association and sits on the Governing Board of the International Business Aviation Council. He is also a board advisor to Trainingport.net and co-owner of Emerald VIP services, an Irish based travel and tourism company. David has worked and lived in Europe, Asia and the USA throughout his business career.

Prior to returning to the USA in 2015 David was President of BBA Aviation Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, where he headed up the strategic development of the Services and Aftermarket businesses in the Region. Previously he served as Signature Flight Support Chief Commercial Officer in the USA, and was Managing Director Europe, Middle East and Africa for Signature Flight Support.

He is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde where he earned his MBA and is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Quentin Bond
Director of Business Development, Jet Support Services Inc (JSSI)


Quentin Bond is the Business Development Director JSSI Asia who partners with jet owners, management companies and maintenance departments to tailor make hourly cost maintenance programs for their assets. After spending the last decade in Sales and Marketing in aviation companies, Quentin has extensive knowledge and insights on how to operate corporate jets and helicopters efficiently in the region.

Quentin is very passionate about the industry and holds a master’s degree in marketing and a certificate of aviation management from the University of Newcastle Australia.

Guy Bordoni
Head GA & Aerospace Insurance Director, Swiss Re International


Guy joined Swiss Re in May 2009, relocated to Singapore in October 2012 and is currently the Head GA & Aerospace Insurance APAC leading the regional underwriting teams in Singapore, Brisbane and Sydney. The teams under Guy's leadership write business across all classes and segments of General Aviation, non-Major Airlines and Aerospace in the region and are firmly established as key players amongst the leading participants in their respective markets.

Prior to his current role, Guy was a Senior Product Manager for General Aviation and Aerospace, in the Aviation Underwriting Centre in Munich, where he worked on a number of projects and tasks including: contracts and wordings, rating and pricing development, market modeling and proprietary systems development, regulatory filings, the opening and start-up of new underwriting locations around the globe.

Before joining Swiss Re Guy worked for Assicurazioni Generali SpA, in Italy, as the Senior Underwriter in the Corporate Aviation and Rotor Wing Underwriting team and was also responsible for its' Facultative Reinsurance placements in the international markets. Prior to Assicurazioni Generali SpA, Guy worked in Sales and Marketing in Investment Banking and in FMCG, where he led KAM teams servicing major Corporate clients, traded commodities, Fixed Income Products trading and broking.

Guy holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Westminster, a post-graduate diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in England and Wales and an MBA from Cranfield University School of Management.

Daniel Bould
Regional Director, Crisis Management Asia, AON


Daniel is the Regional Director, Crisis Management for Aon in Asia. He helps clients to address and highlight their specific risk to radical threats and offers counter terrorist, Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion (KRE) and Product Recall solutions to clients in order to mitigate their exposure. Dan has delivered Insurance, Crisis Management and Security solutions, documentation and training to a wide range of regional and global clients. Recently, he has delivered these solutions to large scale infrastructure projects, entertainment chains, a global logistics company and various regional power generation companies.

Nick Bridges
Underwriter – Aviation, MS Amlin


Nick Bridges holds the position of Aviation Underwriter at MS Amlin, a leading insurance and reinsurance company headquartered in London and part of MS&AD, a top 10 global insurance group.
Nick took up the role at MS Amlin Asia Pacific’s Singapore office in 2016, transferring from the London team, and has 10 years’ experience in aviation insurance with 3 Lloyd’s Syndicates. He underwrites a diverse portfolio of risks in Asia and beyond including General Aviation and Airline clients, and in addition has a particular focus on Aerospace operations such as airports, ground handlers, refuellers, MROs and products manufacturers.
Nick has a Bachelors degree in Modern Languages from the University of Nottingham and has lived and worked in 3 continents. He therefore has a particular interest and appreciation for different cultures which is of notable value given the multitude of brokers, clients and service providers he comes into contact with from across the region.

Claudio Camelier
Vice President Sales - Middle East and Asia Pacific, Embraer


Claudio Camelier is the Vice-President of Sales for Embraer Executive Jets in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. His team is responsible for promoting and selling the Phenom, Legacy and Lineage product lines in the region.

With the Company since 1998, Mr. Camelier previously held positions in Embraer’s Product Strategy, Market Intelligence and Customer Support organizations.

Prior to joining Embraer, Mr. Camelier dedicated eight years to the aviation industry in Brazil, in the fields of flight operations and performance engineering, airport and navigation fees and aviation fuel management.

Mr. Camelier received his Aeronautical Engineering degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Aeronautica (ITA - Brazilian Air Force Institute of Technology) and holds a MBA in Business Management from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas university in São Paulo, Brazil.

Rachan Cheerachin
Technical Advisor, Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI)


Rachan Cheerachin is the Technical Advisor for JSSI looking after the portfolio in Asia Pacific region. An industry veteran, Rachan brought 20 years of hands on maintenance management experience to JSSI where he specialises in Airframe and Power Plant engineering for major corporate jet operators. Rachan has extensive network and knowledge in the region and was based in Thailand and India prior to moving to Hong Kong.

Rachan holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Prince of Songkhla University of Thailand and he is also a Thai DCA aircraft maintenance license and US FAA airframe & power plant aircraft maintenance licence holder.

Peter Coles
Partner, HFW


Peter is a Partner in the Asia Aerospace practice, based in Hong Kong, and manages the day to day activities of the Hong Kong based members of the team. He handles a broad range of aviation, product liability, insurance, commercial and regulatory matters for airlines, GA and business jet operators, airports, manufacturers, ground handlers and MROs in many jurisdictions throughout Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Peter has lived and worked in Asia for 18 years. He is a regular speaker at conferences and contributes articles to a number of aviation and insurance periodicals.

Peter was selected for inclusion in the Transport chapter in Who’s Who Legal: Thought Leaders 2018 and was also selected for recognition in both the Aviation Contentious and Aviation Regulatory chapters of Who’s Who Legal: Transport 2017. Peter is recommended by Chambers Asia Pacific 2014 for Insurance and is also named in The International Who's Who of Aviation Lawyers 2013.

Peter is qualified in England, Wales and Hong Kong.

Chris Davey
Director, Customer Support, International Region, Bombardier


Chris Davey was appointed Director of Customer Support, International Region, Bombardier Business Aircraft in July 2017, where he leads a team of Customer Support managers, field service representatives, Customer Care managers, engineers and office administrators across Europe, Russia & CIS, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. He is responsible for expanding Bombardier’s global footprint, including establishing Regional Support Offices and leading the transformation of the field network by integrating and localizing support personnel, and effectively deploying and utilizing resources in strategic locations worldwide.

Mr. Davey joined Bombardier in 1997 where he has held various leadership positions in sales, market development and customer support initially with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and then at Bombardier Business Aircraft. Prior to assuming his current role, he was Director of Sales, Asia/Pacific, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.

With an aerospace career spanning more than 30 years, Mr. Davey has worked extensively in aircraft operations and aerospace manufacturing, bringing a keen understanding of Bombardier’s worldwide customer support and services to an international business aircraft customer base.

A licensed aircraft engineer by training, he holds a diploma in Aeroskills, Aircraft Engineering from Technical and Further Education (TAFE) in New South Wales, Australia.

Mr. Davey is based at Bombardier’s Regional Support Office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Alexandria Colindres
Director of Business Development, The Registry of Aruba


Alexandria Colindres, is the Director of Business Development at the Registry of Aruba. She holds a degree in Fine Art from Tufts University graduating in 2010, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colombia College when obtaining her Master’s degree. During this time, she organized and curated several art exhibitions, both for profit and non-for-profit and collaborated with several reputable arts organizations. She was also selected to be the volunteer Curator for the Rock for Kids, Junior Boards annual charity fundraiser (2012), resulting in the highest grossing Junior Board charity event to date.

After graduation she went on to manage Spinello Projects one of Miami’s most successful and reputable art galleries. Developing relationships with many local and international collectors, artists, and arts organizations. Currently she is on the board of the Steering Committee at the Perez Museum of Art, based in Miami, FL.

Now she has combined her passion in the arts with her family’s heritage in Aviation. Revitalizing the aesthetic image portrayed by the Registry of Aruba and using her public relations skills to enhance customer satisfaction.

At the Registry for the past five years, she currently handles all the customer development, works directly with the Aruba’s civil aviation authority, and offers support to the various other departments to keep continuous communication throughout. She is also responsible for the coordination and organization of the various trade-shows, conferences, and publications which the Registry of Aruba participates.

At the Registry of Aruba, Alexandria has cultivated strong relationships with clients/customers, team members, upper management, and the community has resulted in significant increases in the success of numerous projects and a stellar reputation in the aviation industry and a key asset to the registry.

Len Cormier
Safety Officer, Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA)


Captain Len Cormier is the Safety Oversight Advisor for the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA). He is responsible for advising the unit’s Director General on all aspects of the BCAA safety oversight programme, including the implementation of Safety Management System (SMS) by service providers.

Prior to working in Bermuda, Len was engaged by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) for 14 years as a Chief Technical Advisor in the Asia Pacific region. Over this period, he was responsible for assisting states in in strengthening their safety oversight programmes.

He was previously engaged by Transport Canada for 20 years as an inspector and manager in the area of personnel licensing, aerodromes and flight standards. For most of that period, he was responsible for the development of air operator regulations and standards, as well as oversight of air operators.

Len began his aviation career as a pilot for various air operators in Canada. He holds a Canadian Airline Transport Pilots License and is type qualified on the DC-3, C550, CL601, B737, B757, B767 airplanes and on the Bell 206 helicopter.

Ellie Crespi
Partner, Harneys


Ellie is a partner in our Hong Kong office where she advises on British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands law. Her clients include leading onshore law firms, major international financial institutions and listed and private companies.

Prior to joining us in 2013, Ellie worked in the banking teams at Allen & Overy and at Cameron McKenna. She is now a member of our Finance & Corporate practices and the Asia Restructuring Unit. Ellie's current practice specialises in debt and equity financing. She also advises on financial and corporate restructurings and general corporate matters including special offshore products such as statutory mergers and continuations. Her expertise extends to both established and emerging markets.

David Dixon
President, Jetcraft Asia, Jetcraft


As President of Jetcraft Asia since 2012, David Dixon is responsible for optimizing sales strategies and managing operations from Beijing to Sydney. A leading global authority on the private aviation sector, David has lived and worked in Asia in aircraft sales for more than 30 years, and has more than four decades of aerospace industry experience. David joined Jetcraft following a long and successful career as Regional Vice President for Bombardier Business Aircraft. He was awarded the “Member of the Order of the British Empire” (MBE) distinction by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 1977 for his contribution to British exports and is the former Vice Chairman of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA).

David is originally from the UK and currently resides in Hong Kong.

Gary Dolski
CEO, Metrojet

Gary brings more than 35 years of progressive aviation experience to Metrojet having previously worked for Bristol Aerospace, Bombardier, MD Helicopters and Jet Aviation.

In September 2017, Gary was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Metrojet Limited. The company’s principle lines of business include aircraft management and maintenance with operations based in Hong Kong, China, The Philippines and Singapore, servicing the Asia region.
His work experience covers business development and strategy, customer support, finance, commercial, completions/refurbishment, manufacturing, program management, FBO, MRO, and aircraft management and charter within the commercial, military and general aviation sectors.

Gary has significant international experience having held numerous senior management positions based in locations throughout Canada, the UK, USA and Singapore prior to his arrival in Hong Kong.
Mike Dwyer
President, Guardian Jet


Prior to founding Guardian Jet in 2002, Mike Dwyer held Regional Sales Manager positions at Gulfstream Aerospace, Cessna Citation and Mooney Aircraft. An avid and experienced pilot, Mike has amassed more than 3,000 hours of flight time and holds both an Airline Transport Pilot rating and a CitationJet type rating. Mike's education includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Rhode Island, in Kingston, Rhode Island, and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York. Mike is well-known throughout the corporate aviation industry for his expertise, professionalism and integrity. He has authored many industry publications, and is a leader in fleet planning and optimization, aircraft brokerage / acquisition, and aviation business consulting.

Ernest Edwards
Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, Aerion


Mr. Edwards leads all aspects of the sales effort for the Aerion AS2 supersonic business jet. The aircraft is being developed by Aerion in conjunction with GE Aviation and Lockheed Martin, with first flight planned for 2023 and certification in 2025.
Edwards retired as president of Embraer Executive Jets at the end of 2013 and earlier served as that company’s vice president of sales & marketing for North America. In those roles (from 2005 to 2013), he helped build Embraer, a new entrant to business aviation, into one of the industry’s leading brands.
A 45-year veteran of the industry, he most recently served as non-executive Chairman of Veling Tayara Ltd., a Dubai-based company that provides structured operating leases for business jets and is a sister company of Veling Ltd., one of the world’s top 40 commercial leasing companies.
He has held senior management positions with Cessna and Gulfstream and is the former president of Swift Aviation Group, which introduced Embraer to the business aircraft market in 2002 by offering the Legacy 600, a variant of the Embraer EMB-135 regional jet.
Edwards is an ATP pilot, type rated in Citation series aircraft, and also holds an airframe & powerplant license.

Seamus Fox
Manager - Business Development, Equiom Aviation


Seamus is responsible for expanding the aviation offering in Hong Kong by providing aircraft structuring to high net worth individuals, corporations, asset managers, aircraft leasing managers and private equities. He has detailed knowledge of the aviation market in Asia and has developed relationships with key industry players.
Seamus has eight years’ legal experience and four in financial services across Ireland, Australia and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Equiom, Seamus headed up the Irish business development for a global corporate and fund provider. He has also worked for a top tier law firm focused on asset management and investment funds.
He is a member of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland and is currently studying for an advanced diploma in international tax.

Robert Gates
Senior Managing Director, Global Jet Capital


Mr. Gates has over 20 years of experience in aircraft financing and leasing. As Head of International Sales at Global Jet Capital, he is responsible for the organizations international origination activities. Previously, he has held senior-level positions with Chase Manhattan Bank, Merrill Lynch and RPK Capital (a Carlyle Group portfolio company). He holds an MBA from Cornell University.

Geo Han

Geo Han is the founding CEO of GH Group which is based in Australia and Korea. GH Group is a vibrant and boutique aviation experts group dedicated to meeting the needs of the business society and private wealth clients who wish to integrate business or private aircraft in their real lives.  Geo is highly accomplished, results driven international executive with over 13 years of successful
business development and sales in the international aviation trade and employment sectors,
with the last 7 years being for providing excellent sales contacts in the Asian region including
Korea; developing their business by negotiating with potential corporates or VIP clients and
improving their brand image.

Prior to founding GH Group, Geo has served Korean Air and gained expertise across of all areas of civil and business aviation field in China and Korea. GH Group is currently cooperating with over twenty five commercial airlines and business jet companies both from China and Korea.
Now, as a founding CEO, Geo is actively leading entire growth of GH Group’s business in Asia, with a particular focus on China and Korea market.

Mark Hardman
Managing Director, Middle East, Flying Group Middle East


Mark started his aviation career more than 30 years ago and has held a number of senior management positions. These have included European Operations Manager at Bombardier Skyjet International, Operations Director / Accountable Manager ExecuJet and Director of General Aviation at Dubai South.
Hardman joined ExecuJet in 2008 as Operations Director Mexico, where his responsibilities included flight operations, maintenance, aircraft management, charter and business development. The expansion included the opening of the Toluca office and a four-fold increase in managed aircraft. Mark relocated to Dubai in January 2011 to lead the aircraft management and charter divisions at ExecuJet Middle East.
In 2016 Hardman joined Dubai Government as Director General Aviation at Al Maktoum Airport, where he played a key role in the delivery of the prestigious VIP Terminal and GA related Infrastructure. This included a sustainable ecosystem. Mark returned to the private sector in October 2017 heading Flying Group’s ambitious expansion plans in the Middle East.
Mark is a FAA Licensed Dispatcher and is qualified in Business and Finance.

David Hernandez
Shareholder, Vedder Price


David M. Hernandez is a Shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the firm's Global Transportation Finance team, whose performance led Vedder Price to be named Aviation 100 Law Firm of the Year 2015. In 2016, David was ranked Band 1 in Private Aircraft (Global-wide) in Chambers High Net Worth, which recognizes the world’s leading high net worth advisers.

Paolo Lironi is the director at 2-REG and the CEO of SGI Aviation. Paolo has more than 20 years of experience in aviation. He joined SGI Aviation 10 years ago as an executive director and in charge of its engine team. Paolo became the CEO of SGI Aviation and 2-REG director in September 2014.

Paolo started his career in the engineering department of Air Europe of Italy, the leading charter operator in Italy at the time. Dennis Lau

Darren McGoldrick

Chris Miller has over 25 years of experience in aviation and human capital. Prior to Shearwater, he oversaw Guggenheim Partners’ Business Aircraft Investment (BAI) Group. The BAI Group provided capital solutions to the business aviation industry, specifically asset based lending on medium to large sized business aircraft. In recent years, Mr. Miller’s aircraft transactions and financings have been focused in Europe, emerging Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Vinit Phatak

Vinit Phatak is an internationally experienced entrepreneur with a specialization in aviation, telecommunications and marine safety. Over the past 25 years he has created and built dynamic businesses, enduring partnerships and loyal, industrious teams.

The entrepreneurial bug bit him young. In 1994, a cold call with an eye on the future led to modest trading activity within India’s nascent telecommunication infrastructure industry. By 2003 the venture held 80% market share in mobile communication antennas in India, followed by a joint venture with the world’s largest antenna manufacturer, Kathrein Werke KG. The experience proved invaluable not only from the steep learning curve in sales, marketing and technical support, but also from manufacturing in India with exceptional German techniques and processes.

In 2002 his interest in manufacturing was spurred on by the acquisition of Meridian Inflatables, a small business manufacturing marine safety equipment. He optimized the manufacturing facility, and turned around the company. Lasse Rungholm

Lasse Rungholm is an aviation lawyer (L) specializing in EU importation and all matters related to EU VAT, duty and aircraft. After graduating in 1993 Lasse focused on Transportation law and spent 6 months in Norway studying maritime law at the Nordic Institute of Maritime Law.

Establishing OPMAS in the early 90's Lasse has gained a lot of expertise in the area of EU importation, customs duty and Value Added Tax, the VAT. As a member of NBAA and EBAA Lasse has been a panelist at numerous different conferences and is a well-known speaker. Philip Smith

In his flying career he has been a military pilot, experimental test pilot, instructor and examiner of aeroplane and helicopter pilots.

He spent 10 years as a Flight Operations Inspector in Australia and a further 16 years with ICAO Technical Cooperation Bureau based in Oman and the UAE when Middle East airlines were starting to grow into the mega-airlines of today.

In that capacity he was the initial Director of Flight Safety of the UAE GCAA and assisted with the national development of the GCAA.

Since 2012 he has been involved with the development of the Republic of San Marino Aircraft Registry as well as providing professional assistance to their aviation authority to ensure the highest professional and regulatory services to their clientele. He has been instrumental in developing their regulations and procedures to ensure aircraft owners and operators understand registration, aircraft operation and compliance requirements.

Richard Smith

Paul Henry ‘Richard’ Smith has over 40 years in the aviation industry, with experience in both the private and public sectors of the industry; he is a venerable veteran who is well known through the Caribbean region and internationally. His career has been spent working with Civil Aviation Authority (CAACI) of the Cayman Islands with attachments and secondments to international training organizations and a stint with the national flag carrier - Cayman Airways, Ltd., as a pilot.
The following is a history of his training and qualifications to date:
 Joined the Cayman Islands Civil Aviation Department July 1976 as trainee Air Traffic Controller. Attended the Air Traffic Control Training Centre in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles and qualified as an Air Traffic Controller in 1977.
 Appointed as Operations Officer in February 1982.

Ford von Weise is currently a Director and Global Head of the Aircraft Finance Group at Citi Private Bank. The 12-passenger AS2 is expected to fly at a maximum speed of Mach 1.4 over water, and, where permitted by regulation, at speeds approaching Mach 1.2 without a sonic boom reaching the ground. San Marino Aircraft Registry


The Republic of San Marino is an enclaved sovereign microstate located in the north-eastern part of the Italian peninsula. The Aircraft Registry is governed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which is a Signatory to the Chicago Convention since 1988, complying with international standards in providing safety oversight of its registered aircraft with prefix ‘T7’.

Aircraft Registry welcomes foreign aircraft and helicopter owners operating private, corporate or commercially.

In 2008 Gama Group acquired Airops Software, a software consultancy and developer of aviation productivity software and PrivatAir Inc (now Gama Aviation LLC), based in Connecticut, USA, which provided Gama Group with a meaningful presence in the United States, the largest business aircraft market in the world. Full FAA maintenance approval was granted in the USA in 2011. The Group opened a number of other bases as part of its international expansion, including in the UAE which offers aircraft management, charter, maintenance and FBO services. Gama Aviation FZ-LLC was awarded an AOC in the UAE in 2010, then in 2014, an AOC in Switzerland was awarded.

Further acquisitions were undertaken in 2011 (trade and assets of Mann Aviation Group Engineering) and 2012 (Ronaldson Airmotive Limited) which expanded Gama Aviation’s engineering and support capabilities. New bases were opened at Sharjah Airport (UAE), Geneva and Hong Kong.

On the 8th December 2014, Gama Aviation announced a merger (technically a reverse takeover) with Hangar 8 Plc, creating a company with an estimated market capitalization of £130 million. The deal is due to complete on 6th January 2015, with Gama Aviation Plc becoming the new listed stock.
