ZEDRA’s aircraft custom warehousing offering in the UK and Isle of Man

ZEDRA, corporate and wealth, service provider, has extended its customs warehousing offering for aircraft in the UK and the Isle of Man.
The team at ZEDRA Isle of Man, can provide customs warehousing for aircraft in the UK or Isle of Man for a stress-free short term or long-term period which suspends UK VAT and Customs Duty in full compliance with the applicable regulations.
ZEDRA Isle of Man has approval from Isle of Man Customs to warehouse aircraft at four sites in the UK and Isle of Man and can extend these sites to further locations. There are no restrictions on aircraft type, size or value that are warehoused.
“Our aim is to provide clear guidance and cost-efficient technical support that alleviates many of the logistical and administrative problems surrounding UK customs rules,” said James Porter, client director, ZEDRA. “We work with owners, banks, brokers, lawyers, and aircraft managers to ensure a complaint and hassle-free process.”
The UK tax authority HM Revenue & Customs granted ZEDRA Isle of Man Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status in 2017, meaning the usual guarantees required for customs warehousing are waived.
“ZEDRA Isle of Man had customs warehouse approval and guarantee waivers in place since 2017, the purpose was to facilitate storage usually required before, during or after a sale transaction. The sale of an aircraft in warehouse means no requirement for flights to a VAT free jurisdiction or for foreign owners to register for VAT in the UK. Scheduled maintenance can also be carried out along with registration changes,” said Andrew Wilson, head of aviation and marine at ZEDRA.
