The purpose of the "dry bay" is to contain any fuel leakage in the rare occurrence of a high-speed runway excursion and wing damage.

Yingling Aviation has completed its first dry bay modification on a Dassault Falcon 900.

Impressed with the outcome, the customer has committed to sending additional aircraft, according to Yingling. Whilst the on-site plank and tank crew praised the install as “the cleanest they’ve ever seen”.

Jason Cohen, executive vice president of sales at Yingling Aviation said: “As we continue to invest in and expand our Falcon support capabilities to meet customer demand, milestones like this affirm our team’s expertise and readiness to take on more complex projects. With three more Falcon aircraft already lined up for this modification, we’re proud to be the go-to solution for operators looking for quality and efficiency.”

For operators who still need to comply with the airworthiness directive for Falcon 50, 900 and 2000 dry bay modifications, Yingling is offering the service both at its facility and via offsite deployment.

Meanwhile, back in February, Yingling completed its first installation of Starlink connectivity on a Bombardier Global.  The installation provides high-speed, low-latency internet access in flight for passengers. According to the company, the aircraft’s operator selected Starlink for its unlimited data, cost-effective pricing and ease of use.

“My principal needs to be connected 24/7 with his business. Cost was a huge driver, and we decided to go with this new player in connectivity, Starlink,” said Mike Carney, director of Aviation at Yingling.
