WCA offers over $60,000 in 2021 spring scholarships
Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA) is offering over $60,000 in scholarships in its Spring 2021 programme.
The WCA has made several improvements to grow its scholarship programme, including investing in new software. The software is allowing it to transition to an automated process.
“The impact of this programme is beyond calculation,” according to Laura Scanlan, president of WCA. “We have seen firsthand how these scholarships propel the lives of the recipients and the success of business aviation work force.”
Helen Hagg, recipient of the 2020 CAE Citation Initial Type Rating Scholarship, said: : “I am so grateful to WCA and CAE for awarding me the Citation Bravo Type Rating Scholarship. I encourage all members of WCA to seek out and apply for scholarships to expand their horizons.”
Hagg added: “This experience has sharpened my skills as a professional pilot through learning CRM [xxxx] and teamwork with the added benefit of building lasting friendships. This opportunity has helped move my aviation career to the next flight level. Scholarships are an open door to opportunity and the ticket to your future in aviation.”
The programme was established 27 years ago, as a grassroots movement to provide scholarships, networking and mentoring to help connect women with opportunities in corporate aviation. Over past 15 years, the WCA has awarded 219 scholarships valued at $703,520.
“I want to thank all the amazing sponsors and the team at WCA who are willing to give their all to help others, I am pleased to announce the 2021 WCA spring scholarships,” said Jim Huntoon scholarship coordinator.
