VistaJet founder Thomas Flohr creates new business aviation group
VistaJet founder and chairman Thomas Flohr has created a new global business-jet services group called Vista Global Holdings.
The new group will be based in Dubai and will cover three different parts of business aviation, including VistaJet, the global operator that guarantees aircraft availability for its programme members.
For the first time, the group will be offering the services of Vista Lease, a new company that will lease and finance aircraft.
Vista Lease will begin operations in 2019, saying that it already holds options for several Bombardier Global 7500 business jets, and that it has enough capital to buy aircraft that can then be leased onwards to clients.
The third arm of the new company is called TechX which will focus on new technology. It will leverage the technology that the VistaJet team has already built, TechX will offer solutions to the charter market that will allow companies to manage all aspects of a charter flight from one location.
“Vista Global has been my vision ever since I started VistaJet in 2004. I wanted to create something truly new, something that would industrialize and consolidate the fragmented business aviation market across the entire range of flight service offerings”, said Mr Flohr. “It is a historic moment for aviation and is the first of its kind. Vista Global is unrivalled in its service to offer all clients the full range of business aviation services on a global scale – flights, technology, finance.”
Rhône Group has invested $200 million in Vista Global Holding. The group previously invested $200 in VistaJet in August 2017, valuing the firm at $2.5 billion.
Vista Global says that the $200 million investment will help bolster the company’s balance sheet, as well as giving it available capital for any future acquisition opportunities.
“Our investment in Vista Global builds on the relationship with Thomas Flohr and the support for VistaJet we announced last year. In Vista Global we see the organization that will transform the nature of the business aviation sector and the one that is best-placed to take advantage of the changes of the industry.” Said Steven Langman, chairman and co-founder, Rhône Group. “Vista Global’s business model and strategy give it a superior position in the marketplace. We could not be more pleased to have invested in such a dynamic industry pioneer.”
