Universal Aviation launches renovated FBO at London Stansted Airport
Universal Aviation celebrated the completion of a six month renovation of its FBO at London Stansted Airport yesterday with an official inauguration ceremony.
The 10,712 square foot FBO, which was re-opened in time for London Olympics, now includes crew and passenger lounges, a modern business centre and video conferencing facility, two client meeting rooms, private screening facilities and showers and changing rooms.
“This facility may have a new look and feel, but we’ve had a presence at Stansted for 28 years and in Europe for almost 40,” said Universal chairman Greg Evans.
The refurbishment, which cost somewhere between £1 million and £2 million, was lead by interior designer Adrianna Hoyos, who has worked previously on projects for TRUMP, Starwood, Swissotel, Marriott and Hilton. Hoyos’ design uses neutral tones and a modern feel to provide clients with a warm welcome.
Universal Aviation currently has 11 FBOs across Europe and although Evans claims that Milan is the busiest, he says: “In terms of structure, [London] is probably our biggest in Europe.”
The company has further plans to renovate more FBOs around the world, using similar themes from Hoyos’ design to create a sense of continuity.
