The Civil Aviation Authority have issued a definitive pilot’s guide to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

A definitive pilot’s guide
to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been launched by the
Airspace & Safety Initiative (ASI). The 100-page manual navigates pilots
through the various security and operational airspace restrictions in place for
the duration of the Games, as well as detailing the specific additional
procedures to be followed over the summer.

The guide will only be available in electronic formats – as a PDF download from
the ASI website. It will also shortly be available as a free iBook for iPads
from the Apple Store www.store.apple.com. Packed with facts and figures,
charts, geographical coordinates and contact details, the guide is a
‘one-stop-shop’ for all aviation related information for London 2012.

The guide is strictly for background informational only, however, and is not a
replacement for official communication channels and publications such as NOTAMS
and AICs. With less than a month to go before the airspace security
restrictions begin on Saturday 14 July, the guide will be subject to change as
necessary.
