Special Town Hall: The Ukraine Crisis and business aviation

“The US Department of Justice is assembling a dedicated task force to go after the crimes of Russian oligarchs. We are joining with our European allies to find and seize your yachts your luxury apartments your private jets. We are coming for your ill-begotten gains,” said president Joe Biden, in his State of the Union Address. “And tonight I am announcing that we will join our allies in closing off American air space to all Russian flights – further isolating Russia – and adding an additional squeeze –on their economy.”

“We are shutting down the EU airspace for Russians. We are proposing a prohibition on all Russian-owned, Russian registered or Russian-controlled aircraft. These aircraft will no more be able to land in, take off or overfly the territory of the EU. This will apply to any plane owned, chartered or otherwise controlled by a Russian legal or natural person,” said Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. So let me be very clear. Our airspace will be closed to every Russian plane – and that includes the private jets of oligarchs.”

Corporate Jet Investor hosted a special Town Hall meeting on Wednesday March 2, 2022 to cover these issues. It can be watched after the event and listened to on all major podcast platforms.
