Improved passenger comfort together with an upgraded wireless cabin management system are among the benefits claimed for the new Citation CJ4 Gen2; Textron Aviation’s latest addition to its Cessna Citation business jet range launched today.

The largest Citation in the light jet segment, the CJ4 Gen2 features a new stair and handrail, premium seating options, enhanced ambiance lighting and more galley storage. An upgraded wireless cabin management system consists of an onboard media server. This  provides streaming of preloaded audio and video files, access to XM satellite radio and the ability to view moving maps. Passengers can also wirelessly control cabin lighting, window shades and temperature from their own mobile devices. USB charging ports are available at each cabin seat.

The main cabin area features side-facing seat selections. The design includes a folding single seat, a fixed two-place couch and a folding two-place couch, which provides additional storage capacity to secure belongings in flight.

‘Enhances passenger comfort’

Christi Tannahill, senior vice president, Customer Experience, said: “With the CJ4 Gen2, we focused on a design that enhances passenger comfort with an elevated cabin to match the performance capabilities already trusted by Citation CJ4 owners. Developments in technology have allowed us to introduce new design elements. A first for Citation light jets are the CoolView Skylights and a vanity option, which give our customers the atmosphere of a large aircraft with light jet performance capabilities.”

Rob Scholl, Textron Aviation’s senior vice president Sales and Flight Operations, told today’s online launch event: “We are proud to expand the citation light jet line-up with the Citation CJ4 Gen2, while continuing to innovate and serve our customers with products that will enhance their travel comfort, ease and lifestyle. In today’s changing world, our customers desire now more than ever to remain both mobile and mindful.”

‘It’s a different sky’

He added: “We recognise that it’s a different sky and we are committed to equipping our customers with the right aircraft and resources to make travel more convenient and productive, which can be seen in the Citation CJ4 Gen2.”

With a list price of $10,750,000, Textron Aviation is taking orders for immediate delivery. The Cessna Citation CJ4 achieved FAA type certification in 2010 and remains a 525C type aircraft. The manufacturer has already received current interior certification for the CJ4 Gen2.
