Textron Aviation to expand Essendon service facility

Textron Aviation is to expand its Essendon service operation.
Textron Aviation has announced the expansion of its Australian service operation with the construction of a larger and more modern service facility at Essendon Fields Airport in Melbourne. The expansion will maximise support for Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker customers in the region .
The new facility will add more work space for servicing aircraft, aiding in faster scheduling with minimal down time to keep customers flying. Construction will begin in March 2025 and Textron Aviation expects the expanded facility to be fully working by early 2026.
Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker customers receive factory-direct support, maintenance and modifications from Textron Aviation, through its global network of service and parts centres, mobile service units support.
“Building this new facility to support the more than 1,400 aircraft operating in the APAC region demonstrates our commitment to providing the strongest combination of factory-direct maintenance and service solutions available for our customers,” said Brian Rohloff, senior vice president, Global Customer Support, Textron Aviation. “This investment will grow our capacity and help us to better assist customers with scheduled maintenance, modifications and aircraft-on-ground support.”
Meanwhile, last month Textron Aviation reported a significant decline in fourth-quarter 2024 performance, with revenues dropping to $1.3bn, down $242m from the same period last year, mainly due to labour disruption at its Wichita facilities.
