Spirit Aeronautics has developed an avionics upgrade for military LearJet C-21A aircraft.

“We have some smart people who have teamed up with some of the brightest avionics OEM engineers to come up with an innovative and cost-effective solution to modernize the C-21A aircraft.”

Tony Bailey, president & COO of Spirit Aeronautics said: “We have some smart people who have teamed up with some of the brightest avionics OEM engineers to come up with an innovative and cost-effective solution to modernize the C-21A aircraft. We are excited to present this unique solution to C-21A operators because it not only increases aircraft systems reliability, it meets all of the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) mandates.”

Rick Ochs, chairman & CEO added: “This is a tremendous opportunity for the military that is constantly looking for ways to maintain fleet readiness and provide crews with enhanced safety while extending the life of aging aircraft. This solution allows aircrews access to enhanced situational awareness, reduced aircrew workload and increased flight operational capabilities while delivering cost conscious taxpayers the value they deserve. It is a great solution for military and taxpayers alike by providing a cost-effective way to extend the life of the aircraft without the need to source a more expensive replacement aircraft.”

The C-21A aircraft is the military version of the LearJet 35A business jet that has been serving military operations around the world since 1984. It is a multi-role aircraft with a 2,306 mile (3,689.6 kilometers) range speeds up to 530 miles per hour.
