Sidanth Rajagopal joins London legal firm Kaye Scholer
Sidanth Rajagopal, an aviation finance lawyer, specialising in the financing, leasing and purchasing of aircraft, has left his position in the Dubai office of Clyde & Co, to join Kaye Scholer in London.
Rajagopal joined the New Delhi office of Clasis Law as partner in July 2011. He then joined Clyde & Co in May 2013, where he served for just over one year.
Kaye Scholer has a practice dedicated to aviation finance and leasing, which represents a range of major banks, aircraft operating lessors, aviation OEMs, private equity and hedge funds and airlines across commercial, cargo and private jet transactions.
Michael Mulitz, head of Kaye Scholer’s aviation finance and leasing practice, said: “[Rajagopal] is one of those rare lawyers who is equally at home in Delhi, Dubai, London or New York, a highly articulate and personable international aviation financing and leasing partner from whom we anticipate great things based on his growing practice and impressive roster of clients.”
Rajagopal was born in India, but grew in Prague. He has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal, Asialaw Leading Lawyers and the India Business Law Journal – as well as Corporate Jet Investor – as a leading aviation lawyer.
“[Rajagopal’s] arrival is just the first in a strategic expansion in London of our top-ranked Aviation Finance & Leasing Practice as part of our longer-term goal to increase our aviation finance capabilities and offerings throughout the world,” said Henry Morriello, chair of Kaye Scholer’s finance department.
