Royal Engineered Composites, a manufacturer of advanced composite products for the aerospace industry, has been awarded work for the new Bell 525 Relentless helicopter. The composite components will be in support of the helicopter’s tailboom and cockpit assemblies.

The Bell 525 Relentless will feature sponsons on the aft fuselage for retractable wheeled landing gear and internally-stowed floatation devices. The sponsons will provide a weight-efficient and fuel-efficient configuration for high-speed flight.

The Bell 525 Relentless is a super medium helicopter with expected use in oil and gas industries, corporate/VIP transportation, emergency medical services, firefighting and parapublic transport.

The first flight of the Bell 525 Relentless is expected in late 2014.
