Rectrix selects Worcester Regional as new maintenance centre
Rectrix Commercial Aviation Services has selected Worcester Regional Airport as its maintenance base-of-operations.
The company will base its fleet at a new airport facility that the company formerly opened in 2015.
“Worcester Regional Airport is essentially a Boston Metro airport operation for us.”
“Worcester Regional Airport is essentially a Boston Metro airport operation for us. Given today’s positive economic growth in the Bay State, recognizing Worcester Regional as a Boston Metro airport only makes sense as more and more companies expand to the Framingham, Marlborough and Worcester areas.” said Richard Cawley, CEO, Rectrix, “And of significant importance is Massport’s infrastructure investments and Worcester’s proximity to neighboring New England states which were key drivers in this decision. It’s simply a great location for business and an easy destination for our personnel since the airport is right off the Mass Pike,”
The Worcester Regional Airport facility has amenities for passengers and flight crews, including a flight planning room and pilots’ lounge. Rectrix have so far made a $5 million investment in the airport.
“Worcester Regional Airport is a key part of keeping our Central Massachusetts economy strong and growing and Rectrix choosing to establish its maintenance base here is just the latest sign that more growth is ahead,” Congressman Jim McGovern said. “Strong investments like this new facility show why Worcester is poised to be a major transportation hub for New England. As leaders from Rectrix, Massport, and the City of Worcester continue to work together, I know this partnership will continue to bring good-paying jobs and economic growth to families across Central Massachusetts.”
