Osprey Flight Solutions has secured investment worth more than £40m ($53.6m) from New York-based growth capital firm Level Equity.

The new funding will play a “critical role” in accelerating Osprey’s continued development and integration of generative AI technologies amongst other focus areas, said the company.

Charles Chen (pictured right), partner at Level Equity, said: “Osprey is solving one of the most critical challenges in global aviation – managing operational risk in real time. Its AI-powered platform, visionary leadership, and impressive growth trajectory make it uniquely positioned to lead the industry.”

Venture capital firm 24Haymarket and all existing angel investors will maintain a minority investment in the business.

Andrew Nicholson (pictured left), CEO of Osprey, said: “This investment marks a transformative step for Osprey. From day one, we recognised a deep alignment with our partners in New York, who not only share our vision but bring unparalleled expertise in the risk sector. With the continued support of 24Haymarket, our angel investors and this new injection of capital, we are perfectly positioned to accelerate our innovation, particularly in the application of generative AI, and to continue delivering world-class solutions for our clients.”

Paul Tselentis, CEO of 24Haymarket, added: “Andrew and his management team have been terrific partners to 24Haymarket. We were delighted to have had the opportunity to be a part of the journey in building a globally pre-eminent aviation risk management platform and look forward to continuing our involvement and working with our new lead investor partners at Level Equity.”

Founded in 2017, Osprey has built a risk management platform for the aviation industry. The company combines AI-driven data analytics, proprietary technology and expert intelligence.

Osprey addresses the challenge of managing ever-evolving threats and disruptions to air operations. Its clients range from easyJet and KLM to Virgin Atlantic and Singapore Airlines.
