Olympic fencer joins YYZlaw
Canadian Olympic fencer, Shaul Gordon has joined YYZlaw as an articling law student. Having obtained his law degree from McGill in 2019, earlier this year, Gordon completed his Master of Air and Space Law at McGill, and also represented Canada in fencing at the Tokyo Olympics in July.
Gordon graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and was named to First Team All American and all Ivy League in fencing. Using the NCAA scholarship from that honour he went on to study at the Rothberg International School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and then on to McGill.
While Vancouver is now his home, Gordon was born in Israel but raised initially in Turin, where his interest in fencing arose. He has been a member of the Canadian National Fencing Team since 2011 and has been a medalist at the last two Pan American Games.
Gordon will be with YYZlaw as a Student-at-Law up until November when he will have completed the Bar exams of the Law Society of Ontario.
