NetJets has announced the biggest order in business aviation history, with Bombardier and Cessna providing the fractional aircraft company with up to 425 new business jets.
In a deal worth approximately $2.56 billion, NetJets has placed a firm order for 100 Bombardier Challenger business jets, with options for an additional 175 aircraft. If all options are exercised, it will bring the total of the sale up to $7.3 billion.
NetJets has also ordered 25 Cessna Citation Latitudes with options for 125 more. Deliveries are expected in early 2016 and should all options be exercised, the total value of the 150 aircraft is thought to be $2.3 billion.
NetJets chairman and CEO Jordan Hansell said: “By increasing the range and endurance of our fleet, we will allow our owners to get to even more destinations worldwide.”
“We are convinced that the Challenger jets will complement NetJets’ existing fleet perfectly,” said president of Bombardier Business Aircraft Steve Ridolfi. “After selecting our Global aircraft last year, this new order is a fantastic endorsement of Bombardier’s large cabin product portfolio.”
