Minsheng Financing Leasing is planning to sign letters of intent (LOI) with both Bombardier and Gulfstream indicating that it wishes to order up to 30 aircraft from either or both manufacturers.

However, an official at the Chinese leasing company says they are still negotiating with the two manufacturers and that Minsheng Financial is not ready to place firm orders.

The LOI is part of Minsheng’s target to have 100 aircraft on order by the end of 2011, that Zhang Bo, vice president of Minsheng Financial Leasing announced at Corporate Jet Investor’s International Corporate Jet & Helicopter Finance Conference in London in February.

Minsheng Financial Leasing has 38 outstanding business jet orders with Bombardier, Dassault, Gulfstream and Hawker Beechcraft.

The company is also in discussions with Bell, Eurocopter and Sikorsky to create a helicopter leasing business. Helicopter orders are included in the 100 aircraft order target.

The LOI with Gulfstream is expected to be formally announced before the end of June. It is expected to comprise of G250, G450 and G550s. Minsheng is also looking at Bombardier Challenger 605 and Global jets.
