Luminair adding three Falcon 900LX aircraft to charter fleet

Luminair is set to add three Dassault Falcon 900LX aircraft to its charter fleet before the end of the year, the German operator announced on Tuesday at the International Paris Air Show.
The aircraft will join the three Citation XLS jets operated by Luminair, which obtained its air operator certificate (AOC) in November 2024.
“We are extremely pleased that Luminair has decided to go with the Falcon 900LX,” said Carlos Brana (pictured centre), executive vice president, Civil Aircraft for Dassault Aviation, at a news conference held for the announcement. “They are the first fleet operator of the aircraft. We consider it a fantastic airplane, perfectly suited for the trips Luminair is flying.”
The trijet Falcon 900LX was selected by Luminair as the flagship of its long-range fleet. The aircraft features a three-zone cabin, an advanced EASy flight deck and its Ka-band connectivity. It also boasts transatlantic range, short-field performance and is well suited to charter, according to Dassault.
Algernon Trotter (pictured far left), Luminair founder, told reporters: “This is a really exciting moment. Luminair is a very young company and we are very happy to be able to grow at the rate that we are. I think the important thing to remember is being able to grow at this speed gives us a very reliable platform that we are able to bring to the market.
“With the acquisition of these aircraft, Luminair will have the youngest and most modern fleet of Falcon 900LX aircraft in the world.”
Luminair’s business model is built upon high aircraft utilisation using a floating fleet of reliable aircraft. By increasing utilisation, the company presents a strong financial proposition for aircraft investors. Since the beginning of 2025, the fleet has achieved 957 flight hours, reaching a total of 168 destinations.
Luminar CEO David Bergold (pictured second from right) said: “This is a system we developed and refined over more than a decade of experience. We provide our clients with a reliable, customer-focused and operationally robust experience, while providing our aircraft lessors a strong return on investment on asset purchases. We are delighted to bring these superb aircraft to market to diversify our portfolio and cement our position as Europe’s most dynamic business jet operation.”
