Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg nears final cabin installation for two VIP Boeing jets.
Lufthansa Technik expects to complete the cabin installation of two Boeing VIP aircraft, both owned by individual undisclosed customers, at its Hamburg facility soon.
One aircraft, a BBJ 2, is scheduled to be delivered to the customer in December 2013, while the second plane, a Boeing 767-400FSER, will be returned to the owner in early 2014.
The interior of the BBJ2 was created by a London design bureau containing innovations like a steam shower, an air humidification system and lower cabin altitude. The aircraft is also fitted with Lufthansa Technik’s inflight entertainment & cabin management system and is the first Boeing 737 to be fitted with a 65 inch HD monitor.
The design team at Lufthansa Technik created the cabin design for the B767-400FSER. It has a full VIP interior, including a separate VVIP area and full size lounge area. The aircraft is fitted with full audio-video-on-demand (AVOD) IFE system with Live-TV and iPad integration on board.
Lufthansa Technik also has contracts for two Boeing 747-8 aircraft in Hamburg.
