London Southend Airport based Stobart Jet Centre becomes only London FBO available 24/7 in summer 2018
London Southend Airport’s private jet facility, Stobart Jet Centre, will become the only Fixed Based Operator (FBO), serving the London market, to be available to aircraft operators 24/7 when night flying restrictions come into force at other London airports this summer.
From 1st June to 30th September a combination of night flight embargoes and the exceeding of noise quotas has resulted in restrictions on movements between the hours of 23.00 and 0.600 and 0.700 being enforced at Stansted and Luton airports, making the recently refurbished Stobart Jet Centre the only FBO able to welcome private and business jets requiring easy access to London during that period.
London Southend Airport, which was voted Best London Airport 2017 by Which? for the fifth year running, is well below its nighttime noise quotas due to the consistently quiet profile the of the Airport’s traffic.
Stephen Grimes, Stobart Jet Centre MD said, “We have invested heavily in making our facility the most comfortable and efficient to use for our VVIP passengers and it is already being recognised by operators as one of the easiest for access into London. With aircraft parking space for as many as 12 Boeing Business Jets (BBJs), the convenience of Southend Airport for central London is going to be enhanced further when we are the only FBO that can facilitate operators, with aircraft of all types, at night during the busy summer period.” Grimes continued, “We are ready to welcome customers from across the globe and believe that once they have tried Stobart Jet Centre for the first time they will never look back”.
In November 2017, The Stobart Group unveiled the significant investment made to the Jet Centre facility, which is complemented by un-congested ramp space adjacent to the FBO and hangar availability for the equivalent of six BBJs. Working with Apollo Helicopters, who are based at the FBO, Stobart Jet Centre can facilitate direct helicopter access to London.
