JetSmarter aircraft chartered by Real Housewives star for Carolinas relief
Bethenny Frankel is aiding Hurricane Florence relief efforts with the help of JetSmarter, the leading private-jet booking app.
The Real Housewives of New York City star chartered an aircraft via JetSmarter for a flight to the Carolinas to help those hit by Hurricane Florence — loaded it with children’s toys, solar-powered lights, pet supplies, cash cards and more.
Hurricane Florence, a Category One hurricane, made landfall in the Carolinas on September 14 and moved slowly along the coast wreaking extensive damage to private and state infrastructure and occasionally dropping very heavy rain causing localise flooding. North Carolina also suffered a storm surge causing widespread damage to coastal towns and communities like New Bern and Wilmington. Residents were advised to leave their homes and move to places of safety, and yet, sadly, some lives were lost to the weather. The storm moved inland and caused flooding in many inland towns and cities. Many major roads (I-40, I-95 and US Route 70) were flooded for days after the storm passed, so recovery and assessing any damage by land was hampered.
JetSmarter Founder & CEO, Sergey Petrossov said: “We’ve strongly supported Bethenny in her Hurricane Florence relief efforts, every step of the way. The jet was loaded with toys for children, solar-power lights, cash card donations, and tons of medical supplies. The storm has flooded to catastrophic proportions and we’re hopeful that the delivered resources will provide a feeling of inspiration and security for those effected.”
Bethenny was joined by volunteers on the ground to help distribute the necessary supplies and provide support to those effected.
