IBAC announced Stage II registration for IS-BAH
The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) has announced the initial Stage II registrations for the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH).
The announcement confirms the first Stage II registrations issued in May 2017 to Sky Valet of Cannes-Mandelieu, France; SRC Aviation, New Delhi, India; and TAG Farnborough Airport, Farnborough, UK.
All three organisations have successfully shown that the systems, processes and procedures assessed at Stage I are maturing and continue dynamically to improve safety performance within their ground handling activities.

The first Stage II registrations are a significant milestone for the Programme, and it’s fitting that they should come ahead of EBACE 2017 and the planned IS-BAH™ Standards Board meeting where, following positive user feedback, possible enhancements to the industry ground handling standards will be discussed.”
Roger Walker, director Airport Operations at TAG Farnborough Airport said: “We are delighted to be the first FBO in the UK to have achieved Stage 2 IS-BAH accreditation and I know our operators at TAG Farnborough Airport will welcome this. This certification underpins the importance we place on safety management systems (SMS). We have a sophisticated and effective SMS in place and are committed to upholding the highest safety standards.”
Bobby Chadha of SRC Aviation added: “Stage Two was more rigid [than Stage One]. The biggest challenge was ensuring each person in our team understood the importance of what we declare in our manuals.” Chadha said the New Delhi-based company had adopted best practices under the IS-BAH process for ensuring quality and managing risk.
The IS-BAH has been created for the industry by the industry. It incorporates a scalable safety management system (SMS) concept in all aspects of FBO/BAHA operations and is complementary with the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), adopted globally by corporate flight departments.
The IS-BAH is a joint programme between IBAC and the National Air Transportation Association (NATA). It incorporates the NATA Safety 1st ground audit programme and follows the long established structure of the IS-BAO programme.
