Honda Aircraft has increased the range of its original HondaJet by 17%, as well as adding a much more powerful sound system, and has called the new aircraft the HondaJet Elite.

The range increase means the HondaJet can fly further than any other aircraft in its class.

Alongside the range increase and enhanced entertainment system, the HondaJet includes a new engine inlet structure.

By using noise-attenuating engine inlets, less engine noise is heard inside as well as outside the aircraft cabin.

Speaking during the unveiling of the HondaJet Elite during a pre-EBACE media event, company president and CEO Michimasa Fujino said that the Elite variant was introduced in response to the company’s customers’ requests, and confirms Honda Aircraft’s commitment to efficiency and the environment.

“The result of innovation, design and engineering, our new aircraft features several performance and comfort enhancements that, once again, set a new standard in aviation. We are excited to share Honda Aircraft’s latest technological feat with the world at EBACE.” Said Fujino.

The first HondaJet Elite, MSN 11 / N420EX, is on display at this week’s EBACE show in Geneva, Switzerland. The new Elite variant will cost $5.25 million, $300,000 more than the current HondaJet book price.

Although Honda was unable to confirm when it will happen, in coming months the new variant will replace the existing HondaJet on the line and will become the standard HondaJet offering.
