Hong Kong-based charter specialist HK Bellawings has converted two of the options it held for Bombardier Global 7500 business jets into firm orders.

As well as converting the options, the company signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for five additional Global 7500s.

“Today marks a step forward towards our goal of becoming the premier Asian private jet operator. We are very impressed with Bombardier’s Global 7500 aircraft since its entry into service less than six months ago,” said YJ Zhang, president, HK Bellawings. “Its unmatched performance and range is ideally suited for our customers in the Greater China region. As the operator that will manage one of the world’s largest fleet of Global 7500 aircraft, HK Bellawings Jet will further expand its business scope and continuously pursue higher goals.”

HK Bellawings originally announced that it had signed a letter of intent with Bombardier for a mix of up to 18 Global 6500s and Global 7500s in May 2018.

At the time the LOI was signed, the order would have been worth up to $1.8 billion at 2018 list prices if all aircraft were delivered.

In September 2018 Bombardier announced that part of the Letter of Intent had been converted into firm orders, with the company set to take delivery of four Global 6500s and two Global 7500s.

HK Bellawings followed that up in April 2019 by firming up orders for four Global 7500s.

In January 2019 HK Bellawings was awarded the Huron Report’s Best International Business Jet Operator award for the third year in a row.
