Hawker Beechcraft appoints Jay Gibson
Gibson is appointed vice president, special missions at Hawker Beechcraft
Hawker Beechcraft has announced the
appointment of John H. “Jay” Gibson II as vice president, Special
Missions. Gibson will serve as a member of the company’s senior leadership team.
In this role Gibson is responsible for the continued development and worldwide
expansion of HBC’s special missions product line (SMPL) in order for it to
realize its full potential in the important and growing worldwide market.
Gibson also will continue serving as an
active leader in the company’s government affairs regarding special missions,
the T-6 program, the AT-6 program and regulatory matters impacting the
company’s products and services.
Prior to joining Hawker Beechcraft in 2009
as vice president of Finance and Contracts for the Government Business
organization, Gibson served as the Assistant Secretary of the United States Air
Force (Financial Management and Comptroller) in Washington, where he was the
principal advisor to the Secretary on financial management matters and
responsible for the formulation and execution of a US$140 billion budget.
Gibson entered public service as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Management
Reform) and also served as Acting Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Financial
Management). In addition, throughout his career, he has held numerous
leadership positions in private companies, including roles as chief financial
officer, managing director and chief operating officer.
Gibson earned a master’s degree in
business/finance from the University
of Dallas. He holds a
bachelor’s in finance and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Texas.
