Gulfstream installs 100th Starlink connectivity system

Gulfstream completed its 100th Starlink high-speed internet installation on a G650ER at the firm’s Fort Worth Alliance Service Center in Texas.
The milestone comes less than a year after Gulfstream received FAA supplemental type certification to install Starlink on its G650 and G650ER aircraft.
Lor Izzard, senior vice president, Gulfstream Customer Support, said: “No one knows Gulfstream aircraft better than we do, and by providing these additional certified installation capabilities within our facilities, customers can work directly with our experts. We value customers’ trust in our team as we continue to deliver a seamless, safe and high-quality service experience.”
To date, Gulfstream has earned similar certifications from the FAA to install Starlink service on the G800, G700, G600, G500, G550 and GV models with plans to add more. Customers also have the option of Starlink installations on in-production G800, G700, G600 and G500 aircraft.
Starlink has been delivering connectivity solutions for the business aviation industry since it launched at NBAA-BACE in October 2022.
The connectivity product gives passengers access to a variety of in-flight services, including video calls, cloud-based offerings and data transfers. Starlink’s in-flight connectivity delivers latency of less than 90 milliseconds and download speeds of 100-250Mbps.
Meanwhile, last month Embraer revealed it is set to offer Starlink as an aftermarket solution for Praetor 600, Praetor 500, Legacy 500 and Legacy 450 owners through a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).
