Gulfstream's G700 set two new city-pair records en route to the International Paris Air Show.

Gulfstream’s G700 aircraft set two new city-pair speed records while flying to the International Paris Air Show at Paris-Le Bourget airport.

The G700 flew from Teterboro, New Jersey, to San Francisco, a distance of 2,272 nautical miles (4,208km) in four hours, 57 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.91.

It then flew from San Francisco to Paris, travelling 4,947 nm (9,162km) in nine hours, 26 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.91.

The jet completed both flights on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), demonstrating Gulfstream’s “industry-leading commitment to sustainability”, according to Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream.

“We are excited for the G700 and our award-winning Gulfstream G600 to return to the International Paris Air Show this year and look forward to showcasing the compelling combination of advanced technology, performance and comfort as increased demand for our next-generation aircraft continues in Europe,” he added.

The ultra long-range aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, is capable of a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.935 and a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90.

It has already set more than 80 city-pair speed records.

Gulfstream’s G700 entered service in April 2024 and in May this year the company delivered its 50th G700 to a customer.
