Gulfstream Aerospace’s new $65.5 million flagship G650 private jet has won the Corporate Jet Investor Award for the best aircraft of 2014.

The award was accepted by Trevor Esling, regional senior vice president, international sales, EMEA, Gulfstream Aerospace.

Voted for by leading aircraft brokers and financiers, the G650 was the clear winner in a category that featured for the first time in Corporate Jet Investor’s annual awards ceremony, held in conjunction with the International Corporate Jet & Helicopter Finance Conference in London.

2013 saw Gulfstream break its own record for the number of aircraft that the Savannah Georgia-based airframer delivered, with 42 G650s shipped to customers.

Alasdair Whyte, editor of Corporate Jet Investor, says: “In 2014 there was only ever going to be one winner. Its was voted for unanimously and its backlog justifies that it’s a great aircraft.”

Corporate Jet Investor’s annual awards have been running since 2012 and are judged by a prestigious panel of finance specialists at aircraft manufacturers and leading pre-owned aircraft brokers.
