Greg Wedding joins Leading Edge Aviation Solutions

Greg Wedding has joined Leading Edge Aviation Solutions as executive vice president of business development. He joins after 18 years at FlightSafety International.
Wedding retired from FlightSafety International in December having held various roles including being: manager of the Savannah, Georgia Training Center, head of Gulfstream training programs, vice president of teammate development, head of Dassault training programs and regional operations manager. Before joining FlightSafety he served in the US Navy for 25 years as a pilot. He rose to the level of Squadron Commanding Officer and was also a Wing Commodore commanding multiple squadrons in the Pacific Ocean.
“Having Greg’s name on a Leading Edge Aviation Solutions business card is an honor,” said Joe Carfagna, Jr., president of Leading Edge Aviation Solutions. “Greg is respected as an industry leader, a skilled manager and a gentleman. He understands the view through the boardroom window as well as the view through the cockpit windshield. We look forward to working with him.”
Wedding will work from Savannah Georgia where he lives with his wife.
Corporate Jet Investor asked Wedding about his new role:
Corporate Jet Investor: Greg, you retired from FlightSafety International after 18 years in December, and have already started at Leading Edge Aviation Solutions, were you not tempted to take a longer break?
Wedding: “I have known Joe Carfagna for a long time and respected his reputation and integrity within the industry. When he proposed that I join Leading Edge it was a perfect opportunity for which I could not refuse. I enjoy this industry and the people in it.”
Corporate Jet Investor: Leading Edge is only the third company that you have worked for in 43 years, how do you think the culture will be different to FlightSafety and the US Navy?
Wedding: “It will be a change from running large organizations and large teams of highly professional people, but I will be part of a highly professional team for which I am immensely proud to be a part.”
Corporate Jet Investor: Will you miss FlightSafety?
Wedding: I had a fabulous career with FlightSafety and it was hugely rewarding and gratifying. I was given tremendous opportunities within the company for which I am very grateful. I will miss all the wonderful leadership and teammates and hope to reconnect with the customers with a different customer focused service.
Corporate Jet Investor: What most excites you about your new role?
Wedding: “I am excited to expand and stretch my skills in a slightly different way.”
Corporate Jet Investor: Your sons – one of whom is a corporate aircraft pilot and the other who flies for the US Air Force have both followed you into aviation. What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career in business aviation?
Wedding: In business aviation your integrity and reputation is everything. Take care to treat everyone with respect and dignity – regardless of their role or how they treat you.
