General Dynamics Aviation Services has created two new positions at its West Palm Beach service centre, which supports both Gulfstream and other aircraft.

Jamie Smith has been appointed service centre coordinator, with Joe Higgins as service team manager. Both report to Bennie Craft, the service centre’s operations manager.

“Based on customer feedback, we have enhanced our staff,” said Rusty Cramer, general manager, General Dynamics Aviation Services West Palm Beach. “Our facility’s volume of work, particularly with drop-in aircraft activity, has increased during the second and third shifts on the weekend schedule.”

Smith is now responsible for coordinating aircraft visits. He joins General Dynamics Aviation Services after working at Midcoast Aviation, Hawker Beechcraft and Gulfstream Aerospace. He also served in the US Army as an avionics supervisor and inspector.

Higgins worked in the US Navy, as an aviation electrician and a maintenance control chief petty officer, before joining General Dynamics Aviation Services 12 years ago.

As well as Gulfstream aircraft, General Dynamics Aviation Services supports Bombardier Challengers, Dassult Falcons, Hawkers and other business jets. It runs five regional maintenance centres in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Florida, Dallas and Las Vegas.
