GE Aviation and Bombardier announces engine service agreements

Bombardier owned service centres will be authorised to maintain CF34 engines on Challenger aircraft and GE offer OnPoint solutions maintenance coverage for GE Passport engines on Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft

GE Aviation and Bombardier
Aerospace announced two new engine service agreements that will increase
services support for Bombardier business aircraft customers. GE’s OnPointSM
solutions engine maintenance coverage is being offered on Challenger aircraft
equipped with GE CF34 engines and Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft. Bombardier’s
five wholly owned business aircraft service centres in the United States
are named GE authorised service centres for CF34 engines for business aircraft.
Both agreements are effective immediately.

“GE and Bombardier have a long history of collaboration that has grown
stronger over the past few decades, and we look forward to further
strengthening our services and support offering for customers as we work toward
the entry-into-service of Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft,” said Brad
Mottier, vice president and general manager of GE Aviation’s Business &
General Aviation organisation.

GE’s OnPoint solutions will offer customers the option to purchase a flexible
and cost-effective engine service package tailored to their specific needs. Comprehensive
OnPoint solutions are being offered on both the Passport propulsion system that
will power the ultra long-range, large cabin Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft,
and the CF34 engine which powers the  Challenger 600 and Challenger 800

“Bombardier and GE Aviation are joining forces to ensure that our
Challenger and Global aircraft customers have access to the best possible
aftermarket coverage for their aircraft,” said Éric Martel, president,
Bombardier Customer Services and Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft. “Our
Challenger customers will now have a one-stop shop for factory-standard
aircraft and engine services at all five US locations for business aircraft,
and GE’s engine service solution will offer Challenger 6 series, Challenger 800
series, Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft customers a greater degree of cost
predictability and availability for their aircraft.”
