Garmin International expects its new G5000 avionics suite desinged to modernise Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP, to achieve STC certification in 2015, before becoming commercially available from select Garmin dealers.
“G5000 is the ideal solution for Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP operators,” said Carl Wolf, Garmin’s vice president of aviation sales and marketing. “This upgrade offers existing owners and operators a chance to breathe new life into the aircraft they love with industry leading situational awareness tools, safety enhancements, and NextGen capabilities. And they get all this in addition to an estimated 200 pound useful load increase.”
The Garmin G5000 flight deck for the Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP will feature three high-resolution 12-inch flight displays, along with two touch screen display/controllers that serve as the primary crew interface for the system.
A benefit of having the new system fitted will be a weight saving of 200 pounds, allowing operators the option to carry an extra passenger with the same fuel load.
