Gama Group announced plans to extend operations and facilities at Sharjah International Airport. Nine months ago, Gama Aviation FZE signed an exclusive concession agreement for the provision of FBO services at Sharjah International Airport.

The company has seen 40% year on year increase in business aviation movements at Sharjah, Gama has also established a UAE GCAA accredited Part 145 maintenance facility, servicing Bombardier and Hawker Beechcraft aircraft and aims to roll out full EASA maintenance coverage in early 2013.

The Gama Group is planning to add further investment to ensure Sharjah provides the latest FBO facilities for its passengers and crews in 2013.

With landing to on-blocks times now averaging just six minutes, Gama’s Sharjah FBO has established itself as a gateway for business and private visitors to Sharjah, Dubai and the Northern Emirates and a prime technical stop for business jet operators transiting from East to West.

Sharjah International Airport’s strategic location outside of the city provides a short 10 minute drive to the City Centre and a mere 20 minute drive or five minute helicopter ride to and from Dubai’s main financial and business district.

“We’re delighted with the response from our clients to our services at Sharjah and particularly pleased that we’re being recognised by the likes of Universal Weather and Aviation who recently recommended Sharjah to their customers as the transit airport of choice for flights between South East Asia and Europe,” said Dave Edwards, managing director, Gama Aviation FZE.

Edwards concluded “With our significant investment in personnel and infrastructure, together with the shared vision we have with the Airport Authority, Sharjah International Airport is rapidly becoming a perfect fit for operators seeking a fast and efficient service in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.”
