Ford von Weise replaces Mary Schwartz as head of Citi Private Bank global aircraft finance group

Ford von Weise has been named as the new head of a Citi
Private Bank’s global aircraft finance group replacing Mary Schwartz who is retiring after 30 years at the bank.

Schwartz moved to the private bank about 10 years ago after
specialising in asset finance at Citigroup corporate banking. “I worked on
one deal for the private bank and then everyone started contacting me. It’s
more fun than leasing,” said Schwarz in a 2010 interview with Corporate
Jet Investor.

As well as building Citigroup’s business aviation team she
was also president of the National Aircraft Finance Association in 2010.

Von Weise has more than 15 years’ experience in business jet
finance. He joined Citi Private Bank in 2005 from Merrill Lynch where he was
vice president for business aviation finance. Before joining Merrill Lynch he
was involved in aircraft finance at GMAC Commercial Finance.

He owns an aircraft and is a
pilot for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Von Weise will report to Mike
McPartland, head of North America investment finance origination.
